About

This blog was created to introduce Turtle Alley to the public.  The alley is located in Chinatown, Kuala Terengganu, left of the Dragon Arch and connects the main street of Chinatown to the riverfront.  One wall of the alley is lined with turtle mosaics while on the other, are mounted metallic plates of the book “Little Turtle Messenger,” with the story told in three languages; English, Malay and Chinese.  The entire walkway is paved with turtle mosaics as well.

The alley is the brainchild of Dr. Chan Eng Heng, and has come to be much loved by the people of Terengganu.  We hope that visitors to Terengganu will enjoy the public artwork as well.

  1. Congratulations to Prof. Chan for the successful execution of this beautiful project … and congratulations to the people of Kuala Terengganu for helping to underscore the need to protect turtles, terrapins and all that is a part of Terengganu’s natural heritage. May the leatherback turtles someday return to Rantau Abang in appreciable numbers. Wishing everyone all the best

  2. Dear Sim, Thanks so much my friend. I am discovering that there are more ways than one with which to express one’s love for and dedication to a cause. May I wish you continued happiness and health.
